TEATRO GRANDE
The Teatro Grande, described by several artists as one of the most beautiful theatres in the world, has a history of more than 300 years, although it has undergone many renovations, especially in the 18th century.
The Sala Grande, built in 1810 and magnificently decorated in neoclassical style, hosted Puccini and his opera Madama Batterfly on 28 May 1904, which since that day has never ceased to be a great success.
The Ridotto, built between 1760 and 1811, is frescoed with scenes from the social life of the 18th-century nobility; this foyer hosts the audience before performances and during the interludes of the operas. In the adjacent lounges, you can enjoy a coffee or a cocktail comfortably seated on velvety armchairs.
