Teatro Grande

What you need to know to travel

The Teatro Grande, described by several artists as one of the most beautiful theatres in the world, has a history of more than 300 years, although it has undergone many renovations, especially in the 18th century.

The Sala Grande, built in 1810 and magnificently decorated in neoclassical style, hosted Puccini and his opera Madama Batterfly on 28 May 1904, which since that day has never ceased to be a great success.

The Ridotto, built between 1760 and 1811, is frescoed with scenes from the social life of the 18th-century nobility; this foyer hosts the audience before performances and during the interludes of the operas. In the adjacent lounges, you can enjoy a coffee or a cocktail comfortably seated on velvety armchairs.

Festa dell'Opera is a musical project with free access, with more than 40 happenings: more than 400 artists from all over the world perform from dawn to sunset, in streets, squares, cloisters, courtyards, churches and museums, from the historic centre of Brescia to the suburbs. The city is filled with sounds and colours and the most famous opera arias captivate and involve even those who are not fans of this musical genre.

Festa dell'Opera takes place every year in June.  Booking with us, you can attend a unique event, discover the treasures of a city rich in history and enjoy the typical gastronomy of the Brescia tradition.
