Brescia is an active, dynamic city where the quality of life has reached a high level. There is therefore a
great attention to cultural, musical, sporting and entertaining activities.
There are many yearly events, but more events are carried out by associations and local organizations. The
city's rich museums promote thematic exhibitions with international appeal every year.
Recurring events, in addition to the Opera Festival and Mille Miglia, include the Music Festival (weekend
around 21 June), the International Piano Festival (from February to May), the 10th International Music Days
(end of September), the Librixia book fair, with international guests (early October) and a rich programme of plays and ballet, at the Teatro Sociale and Teatro Grande respectively.
